School Crossing Supervisor

About the Organisation

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more

About the Role

The City of Port Phillip is seeking reliable individuals to act as School Crossing Supervisors in the Port Phillip area. These positions carry the responsibility of ensuring the safety of pedestrians and children on their way to and from school as well as teaching the importance of road safety.

  • Up to 10 hours a week - Monday to Friday
  • Working hours: 8am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm

Skills and Experience

  • The ability to learn and understand the Vic Roads guidelines that relate to school crossing operation
  • Experience working with children or the general public
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and parents
  • Ability to exercise personal judgement within agreed standards to respond to a customer’s request on the same day it is received
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role
  • Ability to work at the required times for the role
  • Own transport is desirable
