Senior Sports Club Liaison Officer

  • Salary Range Band 7 $107,570 - $120,376 plus 11.5% Super 
  • Full time ongoing position

About City of Port Phillip 

We are a vibrant and diverse inner-city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programs and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. What’s the role all about 

Are you passionate about sport and recreation and well versed in sport administration and/or management? Then come join our sport and recreation team and be responsible for proactive management of sporting clubs, recreation providers and Council’s sporting facilities.

Ideally this role would suit a driven sports enthusiast who has the capability to establish dynamic relationships, manage expectations and develop effective processes to support an array of stakeholders. 

We have a fun and enthusiastic team who work collaboratively to share successes and achieve delivery outcomes that positively benefit physical activity within our community.

What you might do 

  • Manage sports clubs, recreation providers and community groups to utilise Council’s sporting facilities  
  • Manage the use and administrate agreements to activate Council’s sport and recreation assets
  • Build strong relationships and develop partnerships to establish processes, guidelines, and positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the sporting context 
  • Implement the Sport and Recreation Strategy, Fair Access in Sport Policy and other relevant plans to support community sport and recreation
  • Provide expert advice to inform projects, efficient processes and strategic documents

  • A vibrant team member that is passionate about community sport and recreation
  • An experienced sports advocate with a developed interest in sports trends, sports club challenges and delivery of sports facilities projects
  • A skilled sports facilities administrator, eager to establish efficient processes and doesn’t mind the occasional mundane task!
  • An enthusiastic communicator who can skilfully manage complex conversations and develop creative solutions 
  • A driven stakeholder manager who can develop effective relationships and manage competing demands and expectations
