Project Manager, Building Projects 

  • Salary Range Band 7 $107,570 - $120,376 plus 11.5% Super
  • Permanent, Full Time
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible.

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses, and visitors. These programs range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

The Project Manager manages capital building and associated works by providing technical knowledge and professional advice in accordance with sound project management principles and practices resulting in cost effective and efficient completion of Council’s capital works program. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across Council and liaising with relevant external stakeholders.  

  • Reports to: Head of Building Projects
  • Internal liaisons: Project Sponsor and other Council departments
  • External liaisons: Stakeholders, General Public, Other Councils, Professional Bodies, Authorities

Duties/Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of capital projects and renewal projects.
  • Provide technical advice on design and construction of building projects. 
  • Develop project plans, scope of works, specifications, budgets.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits on worksites.
  • Consider and implement stakeholder and community engagement.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience (Key Selection Criteria)

  • Tertiary qualification in Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, or other field relevant to the planning and delivery of municipal building projects.
  • Experience in works scheduling, procurement processes, contracts supervision and management of small to medium size building and open space projects.
