Executive Assistant and Business Support Team Leader

  • Salary Range Band 6 $95,799 - $104,420 plus 11.5% super (pro rata if part time) plus 11.5% super

What’s the role all about 

Are you an exceptional Executive Assistant and can lead and motivate a team of support staff? We are looking for someone to provide support to the General Manager City Growth and Development and lead a small team of business support officers across a busy and high functioning Council division. 

The City Growth and Development Division has a diverse collection of functions including regulatory and policy-based services in planning, building services, public health, local laws and animal management, arts, culture and events, city permits, transport and sustainability.

Ideally this role would suit a pro-active and solutions focused person who thrives on supporting the delivery services for the community.

We have a passionate and driven team who all work together to deliver outcomes that positively benefit our community.  

1 x full-time permanent or equivalent part time role.

What you might do  

  • Deliver high level executive support for the General Manager City Growth and Development senior management staff. 
  • Support a team of Business Support Officers to deliver a range of administrative functions for the division. 
  • Collaborate with key staff across the organisation to share and identify better practices, training and development needs, and coordinate support activities. 
  • Oversee divisional customer requests and support the timely preparation of Council reports and briefings.

Who we are looking for 

  • Experience providing high level administration support to senior management. 
  • Experience leading, developing and supervising Team members.
  • Experience managing customer expectations and relationships, dealing with difficult stakeholders and negotiating agreed solutions or similar experience.
  • Degree or diploma in Administration, Business Management, or other relevant discipline and relevant experience in a similar environment; or lesser formal qualifications with more extensive relevant experience.
