Appeals Administration Officer 

  • Salary Range Band 5 $82,356 to $94,961 plus 12% Super
  • Full time permanent position
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible

About the Role

Conduct Internal Reviews of Council issued parking infringement notices, exercising personal judgement and decision making within agreed standards.

Duties:

  • Review and determine outcomes for parking infringement appeal applications in accordance with legislation and Council policy
  • Provide accurate, timely and informative responses to a diverse cross-section of the community, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all communications
  • Assess and process parking infringement nominations and for payment plan requests
  • Initiate administrative enforcement actions against drivers with multiple outstanding parking infringements in accordance with Council processes
  • Perform a range of administrative tasks to support the efficient management of parking infringement matters, including record maintenance and correspondence handling

Skills and Experience 

  • Experience in the practical application of policies and legislation (working knowledge of the Infringements Act 2006 and Road Safety Road Rules 2017 is advantageous)
  • Working familiarity with Fines Victoria and the Magistrates’ Court processes, procedures and legislative requirements, or the ability to quickly develop the knowledge required
  • Excellent communication skills with experience in preparing accurate written responses for a variety of audiences
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, Teams and relevant IT systems and application (Local Government or similar experience is advantageous)
