Children and Youth Services Librarian
- Salary Range Band 5 $82,356 to $94,961 pro rata plus 12% super.
- Permanent Part-time (.8 FTE) with rostered evening and weekend shifts as a requirement of this role.

What’s the role all about
Do you have experience in working in libraries or education? Are you passionate about working with children and young people?
Port Phillip Libraries is seeking a dynamic and innovative Children and Youth Librarian, with experience in delivering high quality programs and services that support learning, creativity and connection. You’ll play an important role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive library service for our diverse community.
1 x part-time (.8 FTE) permanent opportunity.
What you might do
- Design, deliver and evaluate innovative programs and services for children, youth and their carers that respond to the needs of our community.
- Develop partnerships and community networks that increase learning opportunities for our community.
- Collaborate with the library’s Collections Team to develop diverse and inclusive library collections for children and youth that meet contemporary reading and learning needs.
- Act as shift supervisor during rostered customer service shifts.
Who we are looking for
- You are positive and driven with a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of children and youth programs.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing community partnerships and managing stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing collections for children and youth.
- Degree or diploma in library and information services, early childhood development or education, or equivalent experience in a library, education or community setting.
- Current Working with Children Check.
