About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled specialist with extensive knowledge of the creative sector, grounded in a robust arts and culture background. This role is responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with key creative stakeholders; supporting and engaging local creative industry and performing a liaison role between internal and external stakeholders. The role sits within the Arts, Festival and Events team.
Skills and Experience
- Well-developed skills in strategic planning and relationship management.
- Demonstrated skills in creative industry research, measurement and evaluation and ability to apply knowledge of national and international trends in relationship to creative industries’ operational, development and support requirements.
- Working knowledge of roles of local government, state government and the private sector in the creative industries context and the ability to work in a political environment.
- Able to review, negotiate and critically appraise existing policies, procedures and deeds and manage contracts.
Duties
- Maintain and develop effective networks, relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders to plan and develop new and existing creative enterprises.
- Implement the relevant actions in the Creative and Prosperous City Strategy
- Explore, develop and deliver new creative hubs, working with existing creative enterprises and private landowners
- Oversee funding agreements and engagement with Council-owned cultural venues such as Gasworks Arts Inc. and Linden New Art and support other relevant creative sector funding and grants.
- Maintain a creative industries database and monitor, analyse and report on the development of Port Phillip’s creative sector.
- Generate opportunities for promotion and training in Port Phillip’s creative sector.
- Provide advice regarding available State, Federal and private creative industry funding opportunities.
