Early Years Outreach Support Officer 

  • Salary Range Band 5 $82,356 to $94,961 plus 12 % super (pro rata)
  • Permanent Part-time, 19 hours per week, Wed to Friday

What’s the role all about 

The City of Port Phillip has made a strong commitment to children and families through the Children’s Services Policy. This role will form part of a suite of services designed to maximise positive health, educational and wellbeing outcomes for children.

By proactively building relationships with families experiencing vulnerability, the Early Years Outreach Support Officer will empower families to access the right early years education for their children. 

We are looking for someone with a strengths-based and trauma-informed practice framework, who thrives in a collaborative team environment.

What you might do 

  • Support vulnerable and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) children and their families to navigate early childhood supports 
  • Identify barriers to engagement and participation through a range of strategies that respond to the unique needs of families, including community engagement, promotions, supports and active outreach.
  • Work collaboratively with key internal and external services to increase participation between vulnerable and CALD children and early education and care. 

Who we are looking for 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in community services, social work, social sciences or related field suitable for practice in the Child and Families sector 
  • Experience working with community to support improved outcomes for children and families. 
  • Experience in working with families with young children, including those who are experiencing disadvantage and/or vulnerability.
  • Experience in working in CALD communities
