What’s the role all about
As Communications Design Officer, you will support the development of high-quality design outcomes across print and digital publications, signage, events and more. You’ll work within established brand guidelines to ensure our visual identity is consistent, contemporary and reflective of our community values. You’ll collaborate across the organisation to bring projects to life with accessible and visually compelling design.

You’ll be based at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible work options available.
About you
You’re a detail-oriented designer with a passion for clean, accessible, audience-focused design. You thrive in a collaborative environment, can manage competing deadlines, and enjoy supporting others to lift the standard of visual communication.

What you’ll do
- Design for print, digital, signage, wayfinding, events and more
- Support the upkeep of brand toolkits, style guides, asset libraries and internal templates
- Work with internal teams to interpret briefs and shape effective visual outcomes
- Engage and manage relationships with external designers, printers and other suppliers
- Be accountable for the delivery of projects on time and within budget
What we’re looking for
- Degree or diploma in graphic design, communications design or equivalent, OR strong industry experience (3+ years) in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Must be able to work in Windows OS or willing to learn.
- Mid- to expert-level skills working in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat. Premiere Pro and After Effects skills favourable. Knowledge of Vision 6 eDM platform and UX/UI experience favourable.
- Finished art and high-level layout skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
- Experience in managing design and production, external provider and internal stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated understanding of the role communications plays in building trust and strengthening community connections through clear, inclusive, and audience-focused communication.
