Project Officer – Open Space Projects

  • Salary Range Band 6 $99,631 - $108,597+ 12% superannuation
  • 1 x Permanent Full-time and 1 x Temporary 12 month positions
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall or with flexible working arrangements possible.

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

Support the planning, design and delivery of high quality open space capital projects that enhance our city.

Build strong working relationships across Council, consultants and contractors while contributing to projects from inception through to handover.

Work closely with senior project managers within the Project Delivery Department, City Infrastructure Division, to help deliver projects on time, on budget and to a high standard.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated project professional to grow their skills in a supportive, collaborative team committed to delivering great outcomes for the community.

Duties:

  • Support delivery of open space capital projects from planning through to construction and handover
  • Assist with procurement, tender processes and contract administration
  • Coordinate project planning, design inputs and construction activities
  • Monitor progress, risks, budgets and schedules, escalating issues as required
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support consultation and delivery

Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualification in project management, open space planning or a related field
  • Experience supporting capital works or open space projects
  • Knowledge of budgeting, procurement and project management frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a multi project environment
