About City of Port Phillip
We are a vibrant and diverse inner-city council stretching 20kms from South to Port Melbourne along the stunning bay beaches down to Elwood and out to St Kilda East with around 1000 people who all work together to deliver more than 100 programs and services to our engaged community of residents, businesses and visitors. What’s the role all about
This exciting leadership role will see you coordinate the planning, development and delivery of inclusive, high-quality festivals and First Peoples programs that contribute to the City of Port Phillip’s creative and cultural identity, including the St Kilda Festival and St Kilda Film Festival.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team and work strategically with Traditional Owners, artists, partners and stakeholders to deliver culturally respectful, community-focused outcomes.
Ideally, this role suits a proactive, strategic and collaborative leader with strong experience in festival delivery, stakeholder management and public sector governance.
What you might do
- Lead delivery of high-profile festivals and First Peoples programs aligned to Council strategy
- Drive strategy, partnerships, sponsorship and stakeholder engagement to maximise community benefit and impact
- Coordinate procurement, contracts, budgets and governance for complex projects
- Build respectful relationships with Traditional Owners and First Peoples communities, artists, partners and stakeholders
- Manage and develop a high-performing team
Who we are looking for
- Extensive experience delivering large-scale festivals or cultural programs and related strategic work
- Strong leadership experience managing teams and complex projects
- Knowledge of governance, procurement and public sector frameworks
- Proven ability to build partnerships and engage diverse stakeholders
- Experience working with First Peoples artists and communities in culturally respectful ways
