About the Organisation
The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and is a committed Child Safe organisation.
What you might do
- Own and continuously improve Council’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including strategic and operational risk registers.
- Lead risk identification, assessment and review activities across the organisation, facilitating workshops with Executive leaders, managers and business units
- Provide trusted risk advice and challenge to the Executive Leadership Team, Audit and Risk Committee, and Strategic Risk and Internal Audit Committee to support informed decision-making.
- Own enterprise risk reporting, delivering clear insights, analysis and recommendations on emerging, strategic and operational risks.
- Drive organisational risk maturity through the development of practical frameworks, tools, guidance and training.
- Oversee and provide second-line assurance for business continuity planning, organisational resilience and crisis preparedness.
- Monitor and challenge risk management practices to ensure alignment with Council’s risk appetite, governance requirements and strategic objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen risk culture, accountability and risk-informed decision-making across Council.
