Civil Design Engineer / Project Manager 

  • Salary Range Band 7 $115,229 - 128,947 plus 12% Super 
  • Full Time 13 Month Temporary role to cover maternity leave 
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible

About the Role

The City of Port Phillip is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer/Project Manager to join the Civil Infrastructure Projects team. Work as part of a group of civil engineers and project managers to deliver civil infrastructure projects that will shape the future for the visitors and residents of the City of Port Phillip. You will deliver civil infrastructure including road reconstructions, local area traffic management, water sensitive urban design, drainage and maritime projects.

Duties:

  • Carryout “hands-on” design, prepare engineering drawings, estimates, specifications and contract documentation for capital works projects.
  • Engage and manage consultants and contractors.
  • Plan and manage consultations with the community, stakeholders, internal and external parties, as required, to achieve best outcomes for council.
  • Provide input and support into the planning, management and delivery of projects within allocated time, quality and budget constraints and in line with the EPMO framework and Council’s standards, policies, relevant codes and industry practice.

Skills and Experience 

  • A degree in civil engineering.
  • Experience in undertaking ‘hands-on’ design of civil infrastructure, such as road reconstructions, local area traffic management, water sensitive urban design and drainage projects.
  • Experience in project management of civil infrastructure projects, including undertaking community consultation, procurement, contract management and construction supervision. 
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and Civil Site Design, as well as sound knowledge and experience in using MUSIC software.
