Workforce Planning & Rostering Coordinator (Libraries) 

  • Salary Range Band 6 $102,620 - $111,855 plus 12% Super 
  • Full time, 1.0 FTE 
  • Located at St Kilda Library with occasional travel to other Library branches, flexible working arrangements possible.

The City of Port Phillip is an inner city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

Coordinate workforce planning and rostering across one of Melbourne's most loved public library services. This role is responsible for ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time, supporting service continuity, customer experience and operational excellence across our library network. Drawing on workforce data, rostering systems and operational insights, you will work closely with Team Leaders and library staff to manage workforce deployment, identify emerging risks and support consistent service delivery across multiple locations. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and analytical professional who enjoys solving complex workforce challenges, working collaboratively with stakeholders and making a tangible impact on frontline community services. Reporting to the Library Services and Operations Lead, you will play a key role in supporting workforce readiness, operational planning and continuous improvement across the service. 

Duties: 

  • Coordinate workforce rostering across all library locations. 
  • Monitor workforce data and provide operational reports and insights. 
  • Manage and maintain library rostering systems and processes. 
  • Support Team Leaders with workforce planning and deployment advice. 
  • Identify workforce risks and implement service continuity solutions. 

Skills and Experience 

  • State Experience in workforce planning, rostering or operational coordination. 
  • Experience working in a complex or multi-site environment. 
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Knowledge of workforce compliance and industrial frameworks.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes.
